Can't Find What You're Looking For?

Integrated ShopSense

What is ShopSense?
ShopSense is a revenue sharing program run by our sister company ShopStyle.com. It allows you to earn money when sending traffic to retailers.

How does ShopSense work?
You choose what ShopSense products to add to your site, and we track the clicks. With access to more than one million product images, creating fashionable content is easy. Visit the official ShopSense FAQ for more info, including eligibility and payments.

What is the easiest way to add ShopSense to my OnSugar blog?
To add ShopSense to your OnSugar blog, click on Blog Settings in the Blog Options menu. Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Earn Money with ShopSense option. If you already enrolled in ShopSense there will be a dropdown menu. Simply select the type of products you would like to display and click Save. If you are not enrolled, there will be a checkbox prompting you to do so.

What happens when I add ShopSense via my Blog Settings page?
Once you select the type of products you want to display and save your Blog Settings, two things will automatically happen. The first is that ShopSense ads will appear between your posts. There is one immediately after your top post, and one after the last post. There may be more depending on the number of posts you display per page.

You will also notice subtle embedded text links in your posts. These links go directly through ShopStyle and are intended to be contextual. For example, the word Chanel will take you to the Chanel product page via ShopStyle.

In both integrated ads, and embedded links, your ShopSense ID is built directly in. You will not need to do add any additional info or change any code.

Can I turn off the embedded text links?
If you do not want the subtle links to appear in a post, or find that they're not making sense in your story (for example, you write about someone who's name is Gucci, but is not related to the fashion house), you can add the code <nobrand> before the word and </nobrand> after the word. This will stop all embedded links in that particular post, but will not affect any other posts.

I changed my mind and no longer want to use ShopSense. I changed the dropdown to "No Thanks" but the embedded links are still showing up. What's happening?
Unfortunately, once you opt out, unless you use the nobrand code on each post, the embedded links will still show up. To remove them completely, please contact onsugarhelp@sugarinc.com.

I would like to display ShopSense ads in my sidebar. How do I easily do that?
The easiest way to display ShopSense ads in your OnSugar sidebars is to click on Widgets in the Blog Options menu. Once there, simply ShopSense Ad. You will then choose the type, category, and size of the ad. Doing this will automatically place an ad in your sidebar. You will not need to add any code.

Can I add other ShopSense widgets to my OnSugar blog? All of the customizable ShopSense ads and widgets are guaranteed to work with OnSugar. Make sure you're in Raw HTML mode, and then simply paste the ShopSense code in to your OnSugar widget or post.

Are there other ways to add ShopSense to my OnSugar blog? In addition to the integrated ads and widgets, any ShopStyle image you use, including everything in a layout post will automatically have your ShopSense ID built into it. This means you can create fashionable layouts and get paid for it.

My OnSugar blog has more than one writer, who earns the revenue? All integrated ShopSense revenue earned via an OnSugar blog goes to the creator of the site. (On the writers page, this person is listed as publisher.)
